Elan has been Managing Director of Alpine Consolidated, a Washington based venture investment company, since its founding in 1996. He led the successful launch, IPO, and sale of multiple public travel and technology companies in the US and the UK, and subsequently served as a Director at Hotels.com, chairing the Special Committee and overseeing the sale of the company to IAC/Inter-ActiveCorp. Elan is a founding Director of Great Wolf Resorts, Mountain Reservations and former Chairman & CEO of AudioNow Holdings from 2008 until its successful sale in 2017. He has chaired the boards of non-profit institutions including the Hirondelle Foundation, the Washington International School, and OurTime.Org. He speaks five languages and holds graduate and law degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and American University.
Marcel, a leading and recognized technologist in the field of AI and software engineering and telecommunications, is the Chief Strategy Officer at Alpine Consolidated. Formerly, he served as the President & COO of AudioNow Holdings from 2008 to it’s successful sale in 2017 with responsibility for finance, technology, and operations. Marcel lead global technical operations and product strategy for AudioNow and multiple early stage ventures. He founded Ziggo Technologies, specializing in bespoke telecom applications, and currently serves on its board. He is the recipient of multiple awards internationally and from US defense agencies including the US Army War College, and Air War College for his publications and lectures on the use of AI (artificial intelligence) and learning agents for security, and military applications. Marcel is a graduate of George Mason (M.Sc. in Computer Science, and Ph.D. ABD) and the Polytechnica University in Romania.
With 12+ years of experience in the software business and digital environment, Dani is currently the Director of Engineering at [e-spres-oh], handling the company’s international portfolio and running the engineering office in Western Europe. Prior to [e-spres-oh], he was a well-established Product Owner and Business Analyst, demonstrating his prowess in the tech industry by transforming challenging projects into successful products. Daniel’s interest in efficient management and effective processes is doubled by his interpersonal skills, making him an approachable and proficient team leader. His vision is to leverage the latest technologies in order to empower [e-spres-oh]’s team to set challenging objectives and grow. He strives to advance more than the success of the company, but also its culture, maintaining [espres-oh]’s unique work environment and enriching it with novel solutions.
Raluca has spent the better part of her professional life in journalism and technology, working with leading technology players in the US and Europe. She currently serves as Director of Client Services at [e-spres-oh] providing strategic marketing expertise and project planning. Prior to [e-spres-oh], Raluca served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Institute for Education, a DC-based mission-driven organization, harnessing the power of data, innovation and soft diplomacy. Raluca is the founder of a publication focused on the intersection of education, innovation and diplomacy. In her role as the Editor-in-Chief of IFE magazine, she has interviewed ambassadors, Nobel Prize winners and key tech innovators and disruptors in the nation’s capital. Previously, Raluca served as a Washington DC news correspondent, reporting for an international press agency headquartered in Bucharest, Romania. Raluca has an M.A. degree in Management in Media Institutions from University of Bucharest and speaks English, Spanish and Romanian.
Alexandra joined [e-spres-oh] in its early days 6 years ago. Today, she brings to the team diverse experience, managing daily operating and regulatory matters, finance and marketing for almost 8+ years in the technology, telecommunications, and hospitality industries for large organizations and high growth early stage ventures. Prior to [e-spres-oh], Alexandra spent several years at Alcatel-Lucent, a global telecommunications provider, and the Metropolis Group (EU) where she managed off-site operations including HR, finance, logistics, and marketing. She holds an MBA from West University of Timisoara (RO) and speaks English, French, Italian and Romanian.
Jan is the CEO and founder of Datatility, a leading provider of cloud-based computing in the Washington area and the Director and founding partner of Zenetex, a leading federal government logistics and IT contractor. As an experienced entrepreneur, Jan has founded, grown, managed and transitioned businesses in diverse verticals. He was formerly President of HRE Inc., a commercial mechanical services contractor in Washington D.C.through its sale, and an investment banker at the McLean Group,focusing on mergers, acquisition and capital formation and he co-founded Marlin Financial Sercices which was sold to a leading UK private equity firm. Jan is a graduate of High Point University.
Mike is CEO and co-founder of Signal, a global leader in customer identity resolution technology which enables brands to anonymously identify their customers across digital touchpoints for better marketing, analytics and personalization. Signal garnered extensive accolades as a technology leader from 2015 through 2017. Prior to joining Signal, Mike was part of the original Orbitz management team and held positions including CMO and COO, joined The Pritzker Group as a partner on their private equity team, and held management roles at General Motors and Leo Burnett. Mike sits on several boards, including Angie’s List, YouBet.com, SIM Partners and ParkWhiz. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Northwestern University and a Masters in Management degree from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management.
Hasan has been a senior executive in the telecom industry for more than two decades, leading strategy, product development, pricing, data, and operations management. He is currently the CEO of HDBUILDS, an innovative real estate development company in Washington, DC. Prior to HDBUILDS, Hasan held senior positions at Verizon, Verizon Wireless in the US, and Rogers Communications in Canada and management positions at KPMG and MCI. He earned an MS in Strategy and Finance from the University of Virginia, Darden School of Management and an MS in Electrical Engineering from its Engineering School. Hasan is also a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he earned his BS in Electrical Engineering.
As SVP of Revenue At WeatherBug, Mike manages the business side of the media property, including direct sales, programmatic partnerships, business development, growth, and more. Concurrently, he advises for companies in the areas of mobile application advertising, attribution, monetization, and distribution. Prior to joining WeatherBug, Mike was the Global Director of App Advertising at AOL/Verizon/Oath and managed mobile programmatic demand and Verizon mobile app distribution partnerships. Mike earned a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
Fraser served as the President and COO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. He co-founded Alpine Consolidated, Travel Services International and Resortquest International. Fraser was the Managing Director at Sorenson Capital and former Chairman and Board Member at Omniture. He actively serves on several boards in various capacities. Fraser is a member of Alpine’s Advisory Board.
Iulian co-founded Triplequote, an services company work to advance the Scala programming language, and serves as its CEO. Iulian was the first employee of Lightbend (formerly Typesafe) where he helped the company grow from 5 to 85 employees, playing the roles of engineer, technical lead, consultant, trainer and sales engineer.He is a frequent speaker at conferences and actively contributing to several open-source projects. Iulian learned Scala by writing the compiler backend for it during his PhD at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne.
Christopher is the Managing Director of technology, media and telecom (TMT) investment banking at Noble Financial Capital Markets. While on Wall Street, he participated in over $16B in transactions. Prior to Noble, Christopher was a banker at Coady Diemar Partners, a boutique investment bank in NYC, a Managing Director in equity research at Bear Stearns, a Vice President of equity research at Lazard and began his Wall Street career in equity research at Salomon. He received an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a BA from the College of William & Mary. Chris is a member of Alpine’s Advisory Board.
Adam is currently Director of Business Strategy and Development at Cisco. He formerly served as VP of Investment banking at McNamee Lawrence and Sr. Manager at Cap Gemini. His work focuses on the intersection of strategy, finance and technology. Adam has helped numerous senior management teams and boards of directors with their corporate growth strategies. He earned an MBA from Yale, a Master’s of Engineering from MIT and a BS from Virginia Tech. Adam is a member of Alpine’s Advisory Board.
Kim is a nationally recognized entertainment industry chief executive. She is currently Head of Parks at Two Bit Circus an experiential entertainment company headquartered in Los Angeles that pioneered next generation digital amusement parks. Formerly CEO of Great Wolf Lodge, she guided the resort entertainment company through rapid growth and the transition from private to public company becoming the leading indoor family water theme park system in the US. She has 18+years of real estate entertainment experience as CEO of Great Wolf Lodge, growing it from one cabin to 15-mega indoor waterpark resorts. She led the company’s transition from a public company to a private one. She serves on the board of EdR, a leader in the development and management of quality collegiate housing. A CPA by education, Kim is a graduate of Edgewood College. Kim is a member of Alpine’s Advisory Board.
Maria is currently an Agile Coach at Viseo, a technology services firm specializing in new web and mobile architectures and Agile Methods. Maria provides technological and methodological coaching in innovative digital technologies. Prior to joining Viseo in 2017, Maria managed product development teams at AudioNow and Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia) with her signature combination of technical expertise and strong leadership. Maria is a graduate of the Universitatea de Vest din Timisoara.
Radu is an expert in business incubation with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. He runs Timisoara Startup Hub, a co-working space and community center for professional and educational initiatives in the field of tech. Radu leads the Timisoara Mobile Development Group and the Timisoara CoderDojo educational project. He works to interconnect the tech entrepreneurial ecosystems in DKMT. Radu co-founded the Banat IT information platform for the ICT industry and now serves on the board. He is a graduate of the Polytechnica University in Romania.
